My goal as a designer is to create a concrete metaphor for the world of the play.  I enjoy creating scene-scapes that offer the performers room to play and explore, and textured lighting that tells a story.  I enjoy using found materials and working in collaboration with the director and dramaturg through the entire life of the production.  Having begun my lighting design career working with concert lighting, dance concert lighting has always been a favorite challenge for me.  I work to support and highlight the work of the dancers and choreographers and use light to manipulate shapes in space.
